This position focuses on the end-to-end technical ownership of new payment features, guiding them from initial concept through implementation to live operation. The engineer ensures a seamless and dependable payment experience for millions of Swiss users while continuously refining the underlying architecture.
Responsibilities
- Design and build payment features to guarantee a reliable experience for millions of users across Switzerland.
- Take full technical responsibility for new features, managing their lifecycle from initial design to production operation.
- Support team members during sprint cycles and drive ongoing team improvements.
- Maintain high code quality through rigorous reviews and a focus on clean, maintainable code.
- Diagnose complex technical problems, manage incidents with internal and external partners, and create long-term solutions.
- Champion a strong test automation culture within the engineering group.
- Enhance system performance and observability by leveraging tools such as Datadog, Kibana, and Grafana.
- Help evolve the technology stack and architecture, prioritizing performance, reliability, and scalability.
Requirements
- A university or university of applied sciences degree in a technical field, or equivalent education.
- Several years of hands-on software engineering experience in complex business and technical environments.
- Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Gradle, Git, and GitHub Actions.
- Solid background with Hibernate, RESTful APIs, SQL, Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience in application performance monitoring, log analysis, and implementing performance optimizations.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and standby duties for special assignments.
- Strong grasp of agile methodologies and DevSecOps principles.
- Proficiency in automated testing across multiple levels, Test-Driven Development, and frameworks like JUnit.
- Fluent English communication skills.
