Senior Specialist - Technical Process Excellence, Commercial Operations

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a Senior Specialist in Technical Process Excellence for its Commercial Operations team in Boudry, Switzerland. This onsite role focuses on manufacturing process optimization, technical documentation, and operational compliance.

The company is looking for a technical leader to drive efficiency and compliance within its commercial manufacturing operations. The position serves as a subject-matter expert for manufacturing processes, manufacturing execution systems (MES), and data integrity, while also managing complex technical documentation and supporting equipment lifecycle activities. The specialist plays a key role in ensuring operational excellence, executing quality events, and managing change control initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance on manufacturing processes and technical batch protocols.
  • Write, review, and approve technical documentation, including rework and repackaging protocols.
  • Conduct risk assessments and contribute floor-level expertise during evaluation phases.
  • Support commissioning, factory/site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT), installation/operational/production qualification (IOQ/PQ), and operational readiness for new equipment.
  • Serve as the business owner for system periodic reviews and approvals.
  • Lead data integrity risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with operations teams on equipment setup, troubleshooting, and vendor management.
  • Manage capital expenditure processes and act as the primary contact for manufacturing purchase orders.
  • Write, review, and approve Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) documentation.
  • Participate in process troubleshooting, performance improvement projects, and A3 problem-solving initiatives.
  • Provide technical expertise for investigations, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), and other quality-related topics.
  • Ensure timely closure of quality records and lead change control processes.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and inspections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Life Sciences.
  • 3–5 years of experience in technical operations within a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment.
  • Solid knowledge of validation procedures and technical documentation standards.
  • Fluency in French (mandatory) and English.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, OSD Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related technical field.
  • Extensive experience in regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
  • Deep expertise in manufacturing processes, equipment lifecycle, and qualification activities (FAT/SAT, IOQ, PQ).
  • Proven experience with SAP, MES, HMI, and process automation systems in a GMP context.
  • Strong background in technical and quality documentation, change control, CAPAs, investigations, and data integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives and structured problem solving (e.g., A3).
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and technical leadership skills, with audit and inspection experience.
