Swiss Re seeks a Senior Structurer in Zürich to design reinsurance solutions with financial market exposures, blending quantitative analytics with derivative structuring.
This position sits within the Trading and Structuring unit of Financial Markets Reinsurance. The role operates at the intersection of financial engineering, derivative structuring, and quantitative analytics, focusing on the design and pricing of reinsurance solutions that incorporate embedded financial market exposures.
Responsibilities
- Create new products and structure deals across various asset classes and risk types.
- Develop hedging strategies utilizing derivative and structured finance methods.
- Establish pricing methodologies for novel risks and embedded exposures.
- Apply financial engineering techniques specifically within a reinsurance framework.
- Assist Client Markets and reinsurance structuring teams with promotional and marketing efforts.
- Perform risk and pricing analytics on structured transactions, including necessary programming tasks.
- Lead internal risk review and approval procedures.
- Analyze and manage innovative savings-block positions and asset-backed financing arrangements.
Requirements
- Possess deep quantitative expertise in analysis, model development, and pricing strategy.
- Hold a degree in Mathematical Finance, Pure Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
- Have at least three years of relevant experience in financial markets.
- Demonstrate solid experience with financial derivatives and their practical applications.
- Show proven experience with analytical toolkits and scripting languages such as R and/or Python.
- Exhibit strong relationship-building skills with a track record of forming productive networks.
- Display leadership qualities, including fostering teamwork and conflict resolution.
Nice to have
- Experience or familiarity with insurance or reinsurance concepts and structures.
- Experience in trading financial instruments.
- Ability to apply existing knowledge to unfamiliar settings.
- Internal organisational awareness to recognise and capitalise on trends.
- Collaborative mindset with ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.
What the company offers
- Base salary range between 134'000 CHF and 202'000 CHF for a full-time role.
- Eligibility for an attractive performance-based annual bonus.
