Senior Systems & Security Engineer (Windows/Linux/Azure)

Elca Informatik AG is seeking a Senior Systems & Security Engineer in Geneva to guide clients through security platform onboarding and configuration using Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, and other advanced tools.

In this role, the engineer acts as the primary technical advisor for clients, overseeing the onboarding process and ensuring the proper setup of complex security environments. The position requires managing a diverse stack of security technologies to maintain robust infrastructure and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main technical contact during client onboarding phases.
• Provide expert advice on configuring Microsoft Sentinel and related security tools.
• Establish policies, configuration standards, and best practices for supported services.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance production services to ensure stability.
• Coordinate with project managers to align on planning and execution strategies.
• Configure log collection for devices and services across client environments.
• Set up and optimize MS Sentinel, MS Defender XDR, MS Defender for Cloud, vulnerability scanners, Darktrace, CrowdStrike, and additional security solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to log source onboarding and service integration.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for onboarding workflows.
• Validate log sources and integrations to guarantee end-to-end data quality.
• Connect security tools with one another and with the Senthorus backend.
• Create customized dashboards, reports, and KPI views for each client service.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in IT, emphasizing security and infrastructure management.
• Hands-on expertise with Microsoft security technologies, including Sentinel, Defender suite, and Azure.
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms, specifically Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows systems and services.
• Solid experience with Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Proven ability to review, analyze, and troubleshoot log data.
• Comprehensive knowledge of network protocols and infrastructure fundamentals.
• Excellent client-facing communication skills, demonstrating clarity and professionalism.
• Sharp analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Fluent command of both English and French, in written and spoken forms.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with additional security solutions such as Darktrace, CrowdStrike, or Tenable.
• Strong written and spoken German language skills.
