Senior Technical Consultant SAP Development (Transportation Management)

Sika AG seeks a Senior Technical Consultant for SAP Transportation Management in Zürich. The position focuses on custom development, process modernization, and supporting digital transformation initiatives within the logistics domain.

This position plays a key role in advancing the company’s digital transformation efforts by managing strategic Transportation Management (TM) programs. The consultant is tasked with enhancing and protecting global template solutions while modernizing TM processes to provide advanced digital logistics capabilities. A central part of the job involves handling custom development within the SAP TM environment to ensure robust and scalable technical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Create, deploy, and sustain custom code for transportation management objects such as Freight Units and Freight Orders.
• Improve planning and execution interfaces, including UI updates, BADIs, and enhancement points for FPM applications.
• Automate charge calculations by implementing BRF+ solutions.
• Configure and adjust PPF actions to handle printing, output determination, and event-driven processes.
• Develop custom logic for transportation network modeling, covering routes, locations, and means of transport.
• Apply general enhancements to TM using frameworks like BOPF, FPM, and FBI.
• Upgrade TM master data models and interfaces through Business Objects and CDS views.
• Build and enhance Fiori and UI5 applications aligned with current TM standard and custom features.
• Activate Fiori apps, technical catalogs, and oData services, both standard and bespoke.
• Design and implement side-by-side extensions utilizing Business Technology Platform (BTP) services.
• Evaluate and approve functional design documents prior to the development phase.
• Provide technical guidance to team members and manage the handover of project deliverables to support teams.

Requirements

• Over ten years of demonstrated experience in SAP TM development, covering both embedded and decentralized setups.
• Academic background in business informatics, information technology, engineering, or computer science.
• Deep expertise in ABAP, ABAP Object-Oriented programming, BOPF, BRF+, report/dialog development, and form design (Smart-forms, Adobe Forms).
• Fluent command of spoken and written English.
• Strong technical knowledge of TM Freight Units, Freight Orders, Charge Management, planning logic, and carrier integration.
