Senior Test Specialist

Avaloq seeks a Senior Test Specialist in Bioggio to lead testing activities for key customer accounts, ensuring quality through strategic planning and execution in a hybrid work model.

The company is looking for a professional to oversee the entire testing lifecycle for its solutions, specifically serving major client accounts. This position requires strong communication abilities to manage stakeholder expectations and maintain composure during high-pressure project phases.

Responsibilities

• Direct the test team to ensure high-quality delivery of testing services and practices.
• Establish the overall test policy and create detailed test plans.
• Maintain client relationships through clear communication and coordinate efforts with the customer's Test Manager.
• Track testing progress against budget constraints and quality milestones.
• Provide regular status updates to both internal management and external clients.
• Create, refine, and run functional and business test scenarios, ensuring they remain reusable.
• Oversee test environment setup, including baseline maintenance and readiness assessments.
• Administer testing tools for defect tracking, statistics, and requirements coverage reporting.
• Document testing outcomes and evaluate final results.

Requirements

• A university degree in Engineering, Banking, Finance, Business, or Economics.
• Between 5 and 8 years of professional experience in the banking or financial sector.
• Deep understanding of testing concepts and methodologies.
• Proficiency with QC/ALM, JIRA, and the MS Office Suite.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, and demanding work environment.
• Willingness to travel locally and across the EMEA region for on-site client work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly for client presentations.
• Fluent command of the English language.

Nice to have

• ISTQB Certification or an equivalent qualification.
• Prior experience with the Avaloq banking system solution.
• Background in agile testing practices, such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, TDD, BDD, or API testing.
• Additional language skills in French, German, or Italian.
