Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) (w/m)

Ärztekasse seeks a Mid-level Site Reliability Engineer in Thônex, CH, to manage Kubernetes clusters, automate infrastructure, and collaborate with development teams to ensure system reliability and minimal downtime.

This position focuses on maintaining the stability and performance of the company's infrastructure. The engineer will manage Kubernetes environments, resolve technical issues quickly, and partner with developers to integrate reliability practices early in the software lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Manage Kubernetes clusters to maintain system uptime and performance
• Diagnose and fix technical problems to reduce service interruptions
• Automate workflows and apply infrastructure as code principles using GitOps
• Configure and maintain observability tools such as Mimir, Loki, and Grafana
• Collaborate with development teams to embed reliability into early development stages
• Apply security standards throughout the technology stack
• Guide and train less experienced team members on SRE methodologies
• Join the on-call schedule for system support

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of professional experience in SRE or DevOps roles
• Proven expertise in Kubernetes and container management
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Bash, Go, or Python
• Familiarity with monitoring solutions like Mimir, Loki, and Grafana
• Ability to work independently in dynamic settings with strong analytical skills
• Fluent English communication abilities

Nice to have

• Knowledge of additional tools such as Flux, Cilium, Istio, Kyverno, or Vault
• Background in database management, particularly with PostgreSQL
• Proficiency in German or French languages
