Software Engineer - Android (all genders)

HolidayCheck AG seeks a Senior Android Engineer in Bottighofen to maintain and evolve its mobile app within an agile, cross-functional team.

This position sits within an agile, cross-functional group dedicated to the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the HolidayCheck Android application. The team operates in an environment where millions of vacation offers are delivered to customers via over 600 microservices hosted on cloud infrastructure, requiring robust and scalable mobile solutions.

Responsibilities

• Work within an agile, cross-functional team to maintain and enhance the HolidayCheck Android application.
• Adopt robust development habits such as pair programming, thorough code reviews, and continuous delivery pipelines.
• Design and implement new features in close collaboration with iOS developers, product designers, and product managers.
• Share technical knowledge by contributing to internal or external communities through blogs or presentations.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of professional experience in Android development.
• High level of proficiency in Kotlin.
• Comprehensive understanding of Android fundamentals and industry best practices.
• Practical experience with Android architecture components.
• Ability to use Compose, Coroutines, and Flows to build scalable and reliable applications.
• Strong grasp of testing methodologies to ensure high-quality software releases.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with RxJava.
• Familiarity with Node.js or Scala.
• History of publishing applications on the Google Play Store.
