Speechify seeks a Senior Software Engineer to build and maintain data infrastructure for AI model training. This fully remote role focuses on scaling data ingestion pipelines and collaborating with the AI team in Zurich.
This position sits within the Data division of Speechify’s AI group. The primary objective is to manage the entire data collection lifecycle to support model training. The engineer will work in a fully distributed environment, ensuring the company’s data operations run efficiently at scale.
Responsibilities
- Identify and integrate new audio data sources into the existing ingestion pipeline.
- Manage and expand the cloud-based infrastructure for data ingestion, utilizing GCP and Terraform.
- Partner with scientists to optimize the balance between cost, throughput, and data quality, aiming for higher quality data at reduced costs.
- Work with AI leadership to define and execute the dataset roadmap for the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline.
- At least five years of professional software development experience.
- Strong scripting skills in bash and Python within Linux environments.
- Experience with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code, including hands-on work with major cloud providers like GCP.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and adjust to shifting priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
