Gravisrobotics in Zürich seeks a mid-level Software Engineer - Infrastructure to design and operate CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and monitoring systems supporting autonomous construction robots. The role supports development workflows across platform, autonomy, and perception teams with a hybrid work model.
This role supports Gravisrobotics' mission to enhance machine operators with superhuman capabilities through advanced robotics. The engineer will manage infrastructure for the full development lifecycle, enabling fast, reliable software delivery to a global fleet of 20-ton autonomous robots. The position bridges platform, autonomy, perception, and interface teams to ensure high-velocity, high-quality development workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end CI pipelines for software builds, testing, linting, static analysis, versioning, releases, and deployment across edge devices and cloud environments
- Manage configuration and infrastructure provisioning for the software department
- Work with Autonomy and Perception engineers to create reliable, scalable development environments that maximize development speed and efficiency
- Maintain and improve in-office Hardware-in-the-loop test systems
- Oversee and enhance fleet monitoring systems for global robot operations
- Collaborate with ML Ops and Simulation Engineers on shared infrastructure needs
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of practical experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, data engineering, or similar roles
- Strong software engineering skills with experience using tools like clangd, cargo, or pyrefly
- Proven ability to build and manage CI pipelines for software and ML workloads (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Ansible or Terraform
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools including Grafana and Prometheus
- Hands-on experience with containerization using Docker
- Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience with software packaging and versioning (e.g. Docker images, Debian packages)
Nice to have
- Experience handling robotics data such as point clouds, camera streams, or time-series data
- Familiarity with robotics and DevOps tools like Foxglove, Prometheus, or Grafana
- Experience with Hardware-in-the-loop testing setups
