The role involves validating system performance, troubleshooting field issues, supporting deployments, and contributing to system improvements based on real-world feedback. Responsibilities
- Check how the system performs across different machines, environments, and operating conditions
- Spot unusual situations, failure points, and operational boundaries
- Work with engineering teams to make technical decisions at the system level
- Look into system failures during field tests or live deployments
- Apply quick fixes when needed
- Help with or lead deployments, especially for pilot projects or beta customers
- Handle unusual or non-standard deployments, including pilot and beta customer setups
- Document insights from deployments and use them to improve testing and design
- Help decide which fixes and upgrades are most important based on real-world effects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a similar field
- At least 2 years of practical experience with complex systems such as automation, robotics, vehicles, heavy machinery, or industrial equipment
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and debug at the system level
- Proficiency in C++ and Python, along with experience using git
- Experience working with Linux systems
- Willingness and ability to work in field environments like construction sites or test yards
- Ability to travel internationally as needed by the business
- Valid driver’s license in B category
Nice to have
- Previous experience with excavators, heavy equipment, or off-road vehicles
- Background in field testing
- Familiarity with communication technologies like DDS, Zenoh, or LCM
- Experience in motion planning or control systems
- Participation in robotic competitions
