DevOps Software Engineer (Gitlab)

The company seeks a Mid-level DevOps Software Engineer to maintain and evolve its corporate GitLab platform in Azure, empowering product teams through CI/CD automation and platform engineering.

This position is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the centralized corporate GitLab platform, which also utilizes JFrog Artifactory. The primary goal is to provide robust infrastructure and tooling that enables product teams across the organization to deliver software efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Lead the upkeep and development of the corporate GitLab environment hosted on Azure.
• Architect, deploy, and oversee GitLab components and their configurations.
• Develop and sustain shared CI/CD pipelines, reusable templates, and automation patterns to support large-scale delivery.
• Ensure GitLab Runners operate with high reliability and security standards.
• Promote continuous improvement by integrating automation, AI-driven solutions, and self-service tools, while establishing feedback mechanisms.
• Produce documentation, runbooks, and training materials, and provide Tier 2/3 support to internal users.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE, with a specific focus on GitLab administration and CI/CD processes.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD principles, including branching strategies, pipeline as code, artifacts, environments, approvals, and compliance controls.
• Practical experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, including deploying and scaling GitLab Runners on Kubernetes, along with monitoring using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Helm, as well as configuration management systems such as Ansible.
• Strong scripting and automation capabilities using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, a sense of ownership, and the capacity to collaborate across different functions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with a collaborative team mindset.
