DevOps Software Engineer (Gitlab)

SIX Group is seeking a Senior DevOps Software Engineer to lead the maintenance and evolution of its centralized GitLab-based platform in Azure, enhancing CI/CD capabilities for software developers.

This position supports a centralized Software Development LifeCycle platform built on GitLab and JFrog Artifactory. The primary objective is to sustain and expand the GitLab environment, integrating related tools to help product teams improve their efficiency and code quality.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead the upkeep and advancement of the corporate GitLab platform hosted on Azure.
• Architect, deploy, and oversee GitLab elements such as groups, projects, runners, pipelines, templates, and shared libraries.
• Develop and sustain shared CI/CD pipelines, reusable templates, automations, and best-practice patterns for large-scale delivery.
• Configure and maintain GitLab Runners (Kubernetes, autoscaling, Docker, Shell) ensuring enterprise-level reliability and security.
• Foster ongoing improvement by implementing automation, AI solutions, self-service options, and feedback mechanisms.
• Produce documentation, runbooks, and training materials; provide Tier 2/3 support and internal enablement for GitLab and associated tools.

Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE, with a specific focus on GitLab administration and CI/CD.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD principles, including branching strategies, pipeline as code, artifacts, environments, approvals, and compliance controls.
• Practical experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), deploying and scaling GitLab Runners on K8s, and using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Knowledge of IaC tools (Terraform, Helm) and configuration management (Ansible or similar), along with strong scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python or similar).
• Strong problem-solving abilities, a sense of ownership, and the capacity to collaborate across functions.
• Team-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Prior experience with GitLab Premium or Ultimate features.
