This position sits within the PCR Software Development chapter, operating in a global, cross-functional setting. The role is central to driving agile workflows and ensuring strong team collaboration, directly supporting Roche’s long-term Diagnostics goals.
Responsibilities
- Convert complex business and customer requirements into robust technical solutions and clearly communicate these to stakeholders.
- Architect and build innovative software that meets strict regulatory standards while ensuring high scalability and reliability.
- Champion software development best practices, including rigorous code reviews, testing protocols, and continuous integration.
- Mentor team members to foster technical growth and serve as a role model for professional excellence.
- Lead by example to promote cross-functional value delivery and maintain a psychologically safe work environment.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Software Development or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Several years of hands-on professional experience in software development.
- If lacking prior Rust experience, a demonstrated willingness to learn the language is mandatory.
Nice to have
- Background in IVD software development.
- Proficiency in Rust, including core concepts like ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, and async programming.
- Experience with C++ or similar languages if Rust experience is absent.
- Familiarity with modern system architectures such as event-driven design, DDD, TDD, BDD, or Kubernetes.
- ISAQB certification or an equivalent qualification.
