Acadia Pharmaceuticals seeks a (Sr.) Director of Value, Access and Policy in Zug to lead European market access strategies, pricing negotiations, and stakeholder engagement for rare disease treatments.
This position serves as a central partner within Acadia’s Global Value & Access and European teams. The role is responsible for defining the company’s market access approach across Europe, ensuring that pricing and access strategies deliver value to patients, healthcare systems, and the organization. The incumbent will build a cross-functional organization capable of executing these strategies while shaping product access plans and communicating local market needs.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the company’s market access strategy for the European region.
- Develop high-quality pricing and access launch plans tailored to specific focus countries.
- Create strategies that incorporate evidence needs, value propositions, managed entry agreements, and other commercial arrangements.
- Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of pricing and reimbursement dossiers.
- Identify evidence gaps required for successful market entry and support the development of evidence generation plans.
- Lead coordinated negotiation strategies with payers and health authorities.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including payers, advisors, key opinion leaders, and patient groups.
- Prepare and manage annual strategic plans and budgets, including accurate financial forecasting.
- Monitor and anticipate trends in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and government reimbursement policies across Europe.
- Provide support for market access activities in mid-size and small European countries.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in market access within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Strong scientific background, particularly in rare diseases and central nervous system (CNS) disorders.
- Proven experience in pricing negotiations within one or more European markets.
- Familiarity with early patient access programs.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Willingness and ability to travel within Europe and internationally.
Nice to have
- MBA or PhD in science and/or economics.
- Recent experience launching orphan drugs and managing early patient access programs.
- Direct or adjacent experience in the CNS therapeutic area.
- Proficiency in additional European languages.
