Tax Specialist (Temporary 6 months)

Union Bancaire Privée seeks a Tax Specialist for a 6-month fixed-term role in Geneva. The position focuses on data reconciliation for fiscal reporting within the Client Documentation & Tax Services Department.

The successful candidate will join the Client Documentation & Tax Services Department at Union Bancaire Privée. The primary purpose of this temporary role is to support data reconciliation activities specifically related to fiscal reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Investigate discrepancies between internal records (such as positions and transactions) and external provider data, identifying root causes and applying necessary corrections.
• Analyze large datasets to detect recurring patterns, propose long-term solutions and prevention rules, and coordinate with IT and external providers to implement updates.
• Perform non-regression testing following system changes to ensure stability.
• Ensure all reconciliations are finalized before production to guarantee that statements comply with specific country tax laws.
• Maintain up-to-date review checklists, reconciliation procedures, and team documentation.

Requirements

• 3 to 4+ years of experience in banking operations, data quality, reconciliations, or tax services.
• Solid understanding of financial instruments, including equities, bonds, structured products, and listed or OTC derivatives.
• Strong attention to detail and logical thinking, with the ability to identify inconsistencies in positions, transactions, and tax statements.
• Excellent analytical skills, particularly in handling large datasets, detecting patterns, and conducting root cause analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including lookups, pivot tables, and formulas, along with basic data management capabilities.
• Clear understanding of tax fundamentals and transactional flows, with the ability to communicate effectively with IT teams and external providers.
• Fluency in both French and English.
