Team Manager, Automation

Bühler Group seeks a Senior Team Manager, Automation in Makati City to lead engineering teams, oversee complex automation projects, and ensure technical excellence in compliance with safety and quality standards.

The company is looking for an experienced leader to direct a team of engineers focused on executing automation projects and retrofitting initiatives. This role serves as the key technical liaison between the project leadership and the engineering team, ensuring that all automation-related activities align with strategic goals and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide a group of engineers tasked with carrying out automation projects and retrofitting work.
• Serve as the main technical contact for the Project Director and Project Manager regarding automation matters.
• Guarantee that all engineering services are delivered on time and meet quality standards, adhering to company directives and EHS regulations.
• Handle all technical communications with clients, including defining specifications for subcontracted supplies.
• Develop the team by establishing processes and a culture aligned with company values.
• Oversee the training and professional growth of team members to match organizational strategy.
• Direct the technical aspects of automation projects, providing leadership during the team's ramp-up phase.
• Manage the technical scope of assigned projects to achieve defined objectives.
• Conduct project reviews to identify and address quality issues or deviations early.
• Participate actively in cross-functional meetings with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
• Support the Project Manager in following the company’s project management process and provide technical assistance for claims or deviations.
• Approve technical designs for complex plants to ensure they meet customer requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Lead Project Engineer in industrial automation, electrical installation, or commissioning at customer sites.
• Proficiency in Siemens programming software (Step7, Tia Portal) for PLC S7 300/400/1500, HMI touchscreens, and SCADA systems, including commissioning at manufacturing sites.
• Strong planning, organizing, and prioritization skills with a proven track record of managing teams.
• Fluent verbal and written English skills.

• Knowledge of .Net software programming and SQL Server Database.
