The company seeks a Team Manager for R&D Software in Uzwil, CH, to lead automation engineers and developers. The role focuses on delivering PLC and machine control projects while shaping future standards.
This position merges technical automation knowledge with leadership duties. The manager will guide a team of engineers and developers, ensuring projects meet quality, timeline, and budget goals. Additionally, the role contributes to defining future standards for machine control solutions.
Responsibilities
- Guide, mentor, and grow a group of automation engineers and developers within the R&D setting.
- Oversee the completion of PLC and automation tasks for machine development, ensuring adherence to quality, schedule, and budget targets.
- Promote the creation, standardization, and reuse of reliable PLC, HMI, and safety-focused machine control solutions.
- Organize resources, set priorities, and provide clear visibility into project progress, risks, and bottlenecks.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, R&D, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and global platform teams, to enhance automation quality and machine performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or higher degree in automation, electrical engineering, software engineering, IT, or a related technical field.
- Several years of hands-on experience in automation, PLC software development, machine control, or a similar engineering discipline.
- Proven track record of leading or coordinating technical teams in development or engineering projects.
- Deep understanding of PLC programming, HMI integration, machine control concepts, and ideally safety-related automation.
- Structured and solution-oriented approach, with strong communication skills in German and English, and the ability to motivate and develop people.
