Datwyler seeks a Technology Development Manager in Schattdorf to lead the industrialization of novel elastomer sensor and actuator technologies, guiding them from concept to market-ready products.
This position belongs to a specialized group dedicated to transforming disruptive elastomer-based sensor and actuator innovations into commercial realities. The incumbent will steer these new technologies through laboratory validation and industrialization phases, ensuring that customer requirements, manufacturing capabilities, and product viability are aligned at every stage.
Responsibilities
- Advance sensor prototypes from initial lab stages to robust, reliable performance standards.
- Establish and monitor key technical benchmarks, including sensitivity consistency, temperature stability, and long-term drift.
- Organize testing protocols to confirm technology readiness and meet minimum viable product criteria.
- Partner with early-adopter clients to gather requirements and execute proof-of-concept evaluations.
- Assist in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) planning and evaluate scalability potential.
- Pinpoint production risks related to sourcing, process repeatability, yield, cost, and quality control.
- Create technical reports and presentations for internal teams and prospective customers.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Robotics, Electromechanical systems, or a related field.
- Proficiency in software applications and a background in prototyping.
- Fluent command of English.
- Strong technical expertise paired with a customer-centric approach.
- A self-motivated, hands-on, and results-driven attitude, supported by effective communication skills and a passion for technological innovation.
