Kandou seeks a Principal Technical Advisor to collaborate with the CTO on next-generation AI interconnect architectures, blending research, modeling, and silicon feasibility.
This position serves as a key technical partner to the Chief Technology Officer, focusing on the conception and development of breakthrough communication technologies. The role bridges the gap between theoretical research and practical implementation, covering areas from algorithm development to early-stage silicon validation within the context of AI memory fabric infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with the CTO to design future communication and interconnect systems.
- Investigate new methods for signaling, coding, equalization, and system-level optimization.
- Create mathematical models, simulations, and prototypes to test architectural ideas.
- Assess trade-offs regarding performance, power consumption, latency, area, and manufacturability.
- Convert research findings into silicon-ready designs and intellectual property.
- Spot emerging technologies that offer competitive advantages.
- Lead technical guidance across research, architecture, and product groups.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related discipline.
- Solid foundation in digital communications and communication system principles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of information theory, coding schemes, modulation techniques, and signal processing.
- Proven experience in developing mathematical models, simulations, or hardware prototypes.
- Competence in programming environments such as Python, MATLAB, or C++.
- Capability to operate across multiple abstraction layers, from theoretical concepts to architectural design and implementation.
- Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, with comfort in exploring new technical domains.
Nice to have
- Background in SerDes architecture, equalization, or wireline communications.
- Knowledge of coding theory, forward error correction (FEC), or advanced modulation schemes.
- Experience with system-level modeling tools like SystemC.
- Application of machine learning techniques to communication systems.
- Track record of transitioning concepts from theoretical research to silicon production.
