Zühlke Group seeks a Principal Data Architect in Schlieren to lead data and AI strategy, design robust architectures, and guide clients through complex data challenges in a hybrid role.

The company is looking for a Principal Data Architect to provide strategic direction and long-term vision for data and AI initiatives. This role involves partnering with clients to address intricate data challenges and delivering architectures that balance technical precision with tangible business value.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on effective solutions for their data challenges.
  • Spearhead design workshops, architecture assessments, proof-of-concept initiatives, and assessments of emerging data technologies and vendors.
  • Contribute to pre-sales and sales efforts by crafting compelling visions for client data strategies.
  • Develop advanced architectures for data and AI projects.
  • Collaborate with teams to implement architectures while motivating stakeholders.
  • Utilize agile DevOps and DataOps methodologies to ensure timely delivery.
  • Direct teams in achieving success for key projects through strong data engineering expertise.
  • Transition data and AI projects from prototype stages to production readiness.
  • Foster awareness of AI and data technologies by sharing knowledge internally and externally.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate deep expertise in AI and data solutions.
  • Show a passion for clean, maintainable software architecture in data platforms.
  • Take responsibility for technical mandates in agile environments as both an architect and engineer.
  • Have proven experience leading technical aspects of pre-sales activities and bid management.
  • Be proficient across multiple data platforms and cloud environments, including Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, and Snowflake.
  • Be comfortable with distributed processing, data modelling, API design, containerisation, serverless computation, data governance, and data security.
  • Possess excellent communication skills on management level as well as with technical experts in both German and English.
  • Hold a technical degree in Computer Science, or a comparable field.
