Hypoguide AG in Zurich seeks a Senior Technical/Software Architect to design scalable, secure solutions for real estate data platforms. The role combines hands-on engineering with strategic architecture, supporting teams across backend, cloud, data, and AI integration in a hybrid work environment.
This role serves as a technical partner across software engineering, cloud, data, and integration domains, translating business and customer needs into practical, scalable, and secure technical solutions. The architect supports engineering teams, challenges assumptions, and drives innovation with a focus on responsible AI and GenAI integration, while balancing strategic planning with operational delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable and practical architectures for backend services, cloud infrastructure, databases, APIs, and integration layers using .NET, Python, SQL, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Support engineering teams by translating business requirements into clear technical concepts, assisting with implementation, and resolving delivery blockers through direct problem-solving.
- Contribute to data models, platforms, pipelines, governance, data quality, and integration patterns to ensure robust data solutions.
- Lead innovation with a customer focus, identifying and responsibly integrating AI and GenAI capabilities into software development workflows.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, maintain architecture documentation, technical standards, decision records, and best practices to ensure long-term system maintainability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering, technical or solution architecture, or a similar role.
- Proven ability to work across complex systems and support teams throughout the full software delivery lifecycle.
- Fluency in both German and English is required.
- Strong hands-on experience in software architecture, modern engineering practices, and designing maintainable solutions.
- Broad knowledge of backend services, databases, APIs, integration patterns, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps.
- Direct experience with .NET, Python, SQL, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Solid data expertise, including data modeling, platforms, pipelines, governance, quality, and integration.
- Understanding of security, observability, documentation, automated testing, CI/CD, and containerization.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI or GenAI, including identifying use cases, evaluating tools, integrating AI responsibly, and enhancing software development practices.
- Background in financial services or the real estate industry.
- Familiarity with analytics platforms and enterprise architecture frameworks.
- Certifications in cloud platforms, software architecture, or enterprise architecture.
