Technician Laboratory / Senior Technician Laboratory

Incyte in Yverdon-les-Bains seeks a Senior Laboratory Technician to lead small-scale culture and purification studies for monoclonal antibody process development.

This position focuses on executing and defining process parameters for small-scale studies within the BPS laboratory. The role is central to characterizing methods for transfer to commercial scale, including the setup of new equipment and the production of monoclonal antibodies in mammalian cells.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and carry out cell culture experiments using shake flasks and small bioreactors, alongside protein purification tasks involving Äkta, Krossflow, and UFDF systems.
• Write standard operating procedures (SOPs), study protocols, and other necessary BPS documentation independently.
• Support the transfer of new analytical methods to the BPS team and perform assays to evaluate product quality.
• Design experiments, analyze resulting data, and suggest improvements for laboratory processes.
• Oversee laboratory equipment under your supervision, including maintenance, documentation, training, and controls.
• Collaborate with on-site departments such as QC, MFG, and QA, as well as with Process Sciences teams in the United States.
• Assist in the commissioning and qualification of new BPS equipment by reviewing documents and monitoring execution.
• Prepare culture media and solutions, and contribute to laboratory organization and supplier purchase orders.

Requirements

• Hold a HES engineering degree or a University Bachelor’s degree with relevant laboratory experience.
• Possess at least three years of experience in a biotechnology lab, specifically including recombinant protein purification.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
• Fluency in French (B1 level) and good English proficiency (B2 level).
• Strictly adhere to all laboratory safety regulations.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with analytics and analytical methods is preferred.
