Test Development Engineer

Escatec Switzerland AG seeks a Test Development Engineer to design and maintain automated test solutions, ensuring product quality and manufacturing efficiency through cross-functional collaboration.

The company is looking for a professional to lead the creation and upkeep of automated testing systems. This role focuses on enhancing product quality and production efficiency by developing robust test strategies and supporting continuous improvement efforts in close partnership with internal teams and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Create test plans, setups, and strategies for functional testing to assess product performance.
• Design hardware adaptors and wiring schematics for functional test setups.
• Build automated test programs to optimize and streamline testing workflows.
• Operate test equipment for debugging and development tasks.
• Troubleshoot, upgrade, and support test systems to maintain high availability and reliability.
• Set up new testers, perform debugging, and conduct buy-off procedures to meet performance targets, including GR&R and Cpk studies.
• Coordinate with customers to provide test-related support.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation for all test systems.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a test development environment.
• Proficiency in LabVIEW and C programming.
• Deep understanding of electronic device interfaces such as UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, and GPIB.
• Experience with flash memory programming using JTAG and SWD programmers.
• Familiarity with standard test equipment like digital multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Knowledge of schematics and PCB design.
• Strong grasp of software test concepts and methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronic Engineering.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and statistical analysis.
• Knowledge of Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
