Industrialization / Electronics Test Engineer

ANYbotics seeks a Mid-level Industrialization / Electronics Test Engineer in Zürich to lead test system development and production support for its robotic platforms.

The company is a rapidly expanding technology firm focused on advancing mobile robotics for various sectors. This position plays a key role in the industrialization and deployment of the ANYmal X system and subsequent robotic models, ensuring they meet high manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage and enhance current and future electronics production test systems for ANYmal devices.
• Create and implement functional, In-Circuit Testing (ICT), and end-of-line verification solutions for intricate PCBAs and electronic components.
• Conduct root-cause analysis on production defects and test data to improve manufacturing quality and yield rates.
• Establish best practices for scalable testing, automation, lifecycle management, and hardware maintenance.
• Act as the primary technical liaison between Operations, R&D, Quality, and EMS manufacturing partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in electronics test engineering within a production or hardware manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on expertise developing, building, and deploying functional test systems for PCBAs and electronic assemblies.
• Strong hardware debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Practical familiarity with standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, and programmable power supplies.
• Solid understanding of hardware communication protocols including CAN, SPI, I²C, UART, and Ethernet.
• Hands-on experience with test automation and scripting languages like Python or LabVIEW.
• Fluent written and spoken communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Firmware development experience.
• Prior industry background in robotics, automotive, aerospace, or industrial electronics.
• Experience developing automated test benches using National Instruments hardware/software platforms like TestStand and LabVIEW.
• Conversational or fluent German language skills for supplier and EMS communication.
• Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, ISO, or IPC standards.
