VIE - QMS Manager Site

Alstom seeks a VIE/QMS Manager Site intern in Zürich to support the Site Quality team in deploying and improving the Quality Management System through audits, KPI monitoring, and process governance.

This internship places the candidate within the Site Quality team, working closely with the Site QMS Manager, the Site Quality Director, and various cross-functional departments. The primary purpose of the position is to aid in the rollout and ongoing enhancement of the Quality Management System at the local site level, ensuring alignment with established standards and facilitating continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Help implement and govern Quality Management System procedures across the site.
• Take part in internal audits, including preparation and tracking of follow-up actions.
• Track and monitor Key Performance Indicators linked to QMS effectiveness.
• Manage documentation by ensuring QMS instructions are updated and communicated correctly.
• Engage in root cause analysis and broader problem-solving efforts.
• Coordinate process reviews and support Quality Management Review meetings.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain compliance with quality standards.
• Execute improvement actions resulting from audit findings or review outcomes.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities within quality processes.
• Maintain a structured documentation system and ensure timely updates.
• Support training and communication initiatives regarding QMS processes.

Requirements

• Prior experience through an internship or academic project in Quality, Engineering, or Operations.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Nice to have

• Understanding of Quality Management Systems and relevant standards such as ISO 9001 and IRIS.
• Familiarity with quality tools, including problem-solving methods, audit techniques, and KPIs.
• An interest in the industrial or railway sectors.
• Ability to communicate in German.
