AML Compliance Officer 80-100%

YAPEAL AG seeks a Senior AML Compliance Officer in Zurich to manage daily compliance operations, oversee KYC/KYT processes, and support the risk framework under the CRO.

Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, this position is central to the company’s risk and compliance strategy. The role focuses on managing day-to-day compliance activities, ensuring strict adherence to regulations, and enhancing the AML Compliance Risk Framework through improved reporting and proactive risk identification.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough onboarding and due diligence checks for both corporate and private client accounts.
• Manage and refine KYC and KYT rules, controls, and transaction monitoring systems.
• Serve as the main liaison for regulatory bodies and handle all submissions to the Money Laundering Reporting Office Switzerland (MROS).
• Review high-risk customer relationships and complex profiles on a regular basis.
• Oversee first-line compliance controls and process escalated cases from the second line of defense.
• Act as the internal expert for compliance standards, ensuring new product features are compliant by design.
• Identify potential regulatory risks and drive the continuous improvement of the AML compliance framework.
• Organize and deliver AML/CTF training sessions for staff across the organization.
• Handle ad-hoc compliance projects and tasks as the business expands.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in compliance roles, specifically within AML, CTF, and sanction regulations.
• Fluent proficiency in Swiss-German.
• Strong professional command of English.
• High technical aptitude with a strong interest in IT and AI technologies.
