The company seeks a mid-level Application Engineer for Healthcare IT in Fribourg, working remotely. The role focuses on managing clinical applications, ensuring system stability, and bridging technical and medical teams to improve patient care.

This position operates at the intersection of information technology and medical services. The specialist acts as a technical advisor and integrator for clinical staff, directly influencing the standard of care delivered to patients through reliable system management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the performance, security, and accessibility of core medical software platforms such as PIS, RIS, PACS, and LIS.
  • Investigate intricate technical issues, implement solutions, and establish measures to stop future disruptions.
  • Develop and sustain data connections and interfaces between various systems to align with operational and medical objectives.
  • Execute testing procedures for updates, deploy modifications, and provide training to staff on emerging capabilities.
  • Serve as a liaison between medical professionals, internal IT departments, and third-party suppliers to align technical solutions with clinical needs.
  • Manage modification requests and maintain clear communication with all involved parties.
  • Guarantee that all software solutions comply with established IT security protocols and data privacy regulations.
  • Assist with user access controls and participate in evaluating potential risks and quality metrics.
  • Take part in launching new platforms, merging systems from recently acquired facilities, and advancing digital or artificial intelligence projects.

Requirements

  • Possess a university degree or vocational training in computer science, IT, healthcare informatics, or a comparable discipline.
  • Demonstrate prior experience in application engineering, system management, or the healthcare IT sector.
  • Show practical familiarity with medical information systems including PIS, RIS, LIS, or PACS.
  • Maintain a robust technical background covering applications, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical, practical approach to tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical specialists and medical personnel.
  • Thrive in an autonomous manner within a global setting involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Speak English fluently and possess proficiency in either German or French.

  • Previous work experience within the Swiss medical industry.
