BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. (Swiss Office) seeks a Senior Asset Team Lead to direct integrated asset strategies from development through commercialization, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and maximizing patient and business value.

This senior role is responsible for leading the development and execution of an integrated asset strategy that aligns with BioMarin’s broader enterprise objectives. The position focuses on maximizing the potential value for both patients and the company across the entire asset lifecycle, including post-launch activities and next-generation product planning.

Responsibilities

  • Aligns the integrated asset strategy with Business Unit priorities, commercial goals, and portfolio trade-offs.
  • Facilitates critical decision-making by communicating strategic challenges and opportunities as new information arises.
  • Ensures stage gate plans support the asset strategy and align assumptions with financial planning drivers.
  • Establishes ambitious targets for project timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborates with functional leaders to allocate resources effectively to meet strategic goals.
  • Provides consistent leadership during key transitions and decision points throughout the asset lifecycle.
  • Identifies potential risks and trade-offs, focusing on solution-oriented contingency planning.
  • Works with the Business Unit to ensure execution plans reflect market realities and lifecycle value opportunities.
  • Promotes an asset-first mindset in daily operations to guide priorities and resource allocation.
  • Represents the asset in governance forums, portfolio reviews, and Business Unit discussions.
  • Supports key deliverables such as clinical study design, regulatory strategy, and global launch planning to maximize asset value.
  • Acts as the primary voice for the asset to external stakeholders and partners.
  • Collaborates with Pipeline Commercialization Strategy and Competitive Intelligence to ensure commercial viability or decide on stopping development.
  • Resolves technical and business challenges, such as formulation optimization, with subject matter experts.
  • Sets KPIs and goals for the Asset Team.
  • Drives urgency in executing the integrated asset strategy through timely decision-making.
  • Ensures alignment between asset strategy execution and management expectations.
  • Leads the team in developing strategic deliverables that support the integrated asset strategy.
  • Serves as the primary contact for external communications, including press and investor relations.
  • Reviews health authority documents to ensure consistency with program strategic objectives.
  • Creates strong connectivity between the Asset Team and the Business Unit for transparency and escalation.
  • Fosters a collaborative, high-performing cross-functional environment.
  • Works with Program Management to ensure strategic deliverables are funded, tracked, and completed on time.
  • Leverages cross-functional partnerships effectively to achieve program objectives.
  • Promotes collaboration and transparency across all functions, encouraging inclusive strategy planning.
  • Resolves conflicts within the Asset Team and provides feedback to maintain high performance.
  • Builds one-on-one relationships to establish trust and improve productivity.
  • Participates in performance management for Asset Team members.
