Assistant Bar Manager (M/F/D)

The Assistant Bar Manager leads the bar team at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy in Zurich, reporting to the Restaurant Manager. The role focuses on service excellence, team leadership, and operational efficiency within the Food & Beverage Department.

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy in Zurich, this position sits within the Food & Beverage Department and reports directly to the Restaurant Manager. The primary purpose of the role is to lead the bar team, ensuring that service standards, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency are maintained to luxury hospitality levels.

Responsibilities

• Update and refine the Bar Operations Manual, including policies and service standards, to align with LQE guidelines.
• Track guest satisfaction during bar visits and address any issues promptly.
• Deliver personalized, professional service that consistently meets guest expectations.
• Maintain the bar's cleanliness, upkeep, and visual presentation to luxury standards.
• Oversee beverage quality, preparation methods, and service consistency.
• Lead daily briefings and regular team meetings to share updates, promotions, feedback, and priorities.
• Manage operational expenses to stay within budget without compromising quality.
• Drive revenue growth by boosting sales, increasing customer volume, and refining beverage selections.

Requirements

• Formal training in upscale hospitality or gastronomy, ideally with 2-3 years of relevant experience.
• Proven leadership abilities and organizational skills, with experience managing diverse teams.
• Deep understanding of bar operations, current beverage trends, and service excellence benchmarks.
• High adaptability and resilience, including willingness to work weekends and holidays.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for guest and team interactions.
• Professional appearance and confident demeanor.
• Genuine passion for exceptional service and awareness of hospitality trends.
• Fluency in German and English; additional languages are a plus.
• Legal right to work in Switzerland.
