Associate Business Development Director

IQVIA AG seeks an Associate Business Development Director in Switzerland to drive consultative sales and secure long-term partnerships with clinical sponsors.

This position focuses on acquiring and maintaining business by engaging in consultative sales strategies aimed at decision-makers within clinical sponsor organizations. The role requires identifying new opportunities, building deep customer relationships, and aligning IQVIA’s services with client needs to close deals.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within designated customer accounts.
• Build and sustain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders inside client organizations.
• Stay informed about all IQVIA service offerings to identify cross-selling possibilities.
• Monitor competitive landscape, including positioning and pricing strategies.
• Analyze customer requirements to define opportunities and propose tailored solutions.
• Collaborate with contracts and proposals teams to prepare accurate bids.
• Partner with operations and functional managers to assemble and lead the sales presentation team.
• Train team members on customer culture, operational methods, and closing techniques.
• Manage post-sale follow-up and ensure timely completion of contractual documents.
• Create and implement detailed sales plans for each target account.
• Log all sales-related customer interactions in the CRM system.
• Act as the primary link between clients and IQVIA’s technical and operational departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or equivalent.
• Ten years of relevant experience, including at least three years in the CRO/pharmaceutical sector or sales.
• Demonstrated success in engaging mid-to-senior level contacts.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
