Associate, Data Engineer, Business Intelligence

VF International seeks a Junior Data Engineer for its Business Intelligence team in Stabio, Switzerland. This onsite role focuses on maintaining data solutions and supporting BI implementation.

Based in Stabio, this position sits within the Business Intelligence implementation group. The primary objective is to assist in the upkeep and expansion of data and analytics systems, making it a suitable fit for individuals with a basic grasp of data analytics and BI principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building and maintaining ETL workflows utilizing SAP BODS, SQL Server, and Visual Studio.
• Oversee the performance and stability of current data pipelines and analytics solutions.
• Evaluate existing BI platforms to spot areas for technical or functional enhancement.
• Create and update technical and functional documentation for data migration and initiative projects.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical staff to gather requirements and deliver BI outcomes.
• Track scheduled data jobs and report any encountered issues promptly.
• Facilitate the rollout and usage of Data AI tools.
• Participate in efforts to migrate data infrastructure to the cloud.

Requirements

• Solid proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases.
• Understanding of data warehousing structures and ETL methodologies.
• Capability to produce clear and precise documentation for processes and technical designs.
• Strong aptitude for analytical thinking and resolving complex problems.
• Skill in interpreting business operations and converting needs into scalable data solutions.
• Fluent command of English, both written and verbal, is required.
• A university degree in a scientific or quantitative field is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Prior exposure to SAP HANA, SAP BODS, SQL Server, Databricks, Power BI, or comparable platforms.
• Knowledge of Cognitive AI concepts and associated products.
• High attention to detail combined with a eagerness to acquire new technical skills.
• Strong interpersonal abilities, including teamwork, communication, and proactive behavior.
• Practical experience gained via internships, academic assignments, or previous roles in data analysis or reporting.
• Capacity to handle pressure and juggle multiple tasks in a rapid work setting.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
