BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. (Swiss Office) seeks a Senior Associate Director of Government Pricing to lead compliance with U.S. regulations and shape organizational pricing strategy.
This senior leadership position reports directly to the Government Pricing Director. The role acts as a strategic and operational leader, ensuring adherence to U.S. government pricing rules while guiding the broader organization on pricing strategy. The incumbent serves as a primary subject matter expert, advising various departments on how commercial choices affect government pricing metrics and obligations.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Government Pricing Director with calculations, submissions, and compliance tasks for AMP, ASP, Best Price, PHS, and FSS/VA.
- Oversee government contracting workflows to guarantee alignment with all regulatory standards.
- Offer strategic advice on how commercial contracting decisions impact government pricing outcomes.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors handling rebate processing for Medicaid, TRICARE, and Medicare Part D.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to execute SOX control activities and other audit requirements.
- Partner with Customer Operations and Order-to-Cash teams to ensure the accuracy of class of trade and membership data.
- Track legislative and regulatory changes alongside Government Affairs to evaluate potential business impacts.
- Support financial planning by providing insights on gross-to-net assumptions and pricing effects.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, system enhancements, and automation to boost compliance and efficiency.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in pricing, finance, contracting, or a related analytical role within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
- Minimum of 5 years of direct, hands-on experience with government pricing.
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. government pricing methodologies, including AMP, ASP, Best Price, PHS, and FSS/VA.
- Strong grasp of current regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks.
- Proven experience managing third-party vendors and rebate processing systems.
- Ability to present complex analyses and recommendations to senior and executive audiences.
- Demonstrated capability to lead cross-functional initiatives and governance forums.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with state Medicaid operations.
