Associate

The Associate role at McKinsey & Company in Geneva involves joining client service teams to solve complex challenges, develop actionable strategies, and drive long-term transformations through data-driven insights and direct collaboration.

This position places you within a client service team tasked with addressing difficult client challenges. The work extends beyond standard advisory by identifying underlying issues and developing practical plans. You will work closely with clients to resolve problems, sharpen strategies, and execute transformations.

Responsibilities

• Manage a specific workstream to address client challenges.
• Provide solutions that address immediate issues while fostering long-term change.
• Identify the real challenges behind a client's strategy and develop actionable plans.
• Use research, data analysis, interviews, and brainstorming to generate insights.
• Assist clients in solving problems, refining strategies, and implementing transformations.
• Provide clients with tools and knowledge to continue innovating after the engagement.

Requirements

• Advanced graduate degree (e.g., MBA, PhD) or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent organization capabilities, including initiating tasks independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and local office language(s).
• Proficient in rational decision making based on data, facts, and logical reasoning.
• Ability to create work product-focused materials (PowerPoint, Excel, articles, etc.).
• Exceptional time management in a complex and autonomous work environment.
• Ability to work outside traditional business hours or take on projects with limited notice.
• Ability to travel to and work in varying, potentially challenging environments.
