Autonomous Vehicle Operations Lead

TSMG seeks an Autonomous Vehicle Operations Lead in Bern to manage daily fleet operations, coordinate depot teams, and support testing and commercial deployments across Europe.

The company is looking for an operational leader to direct the day-to-day running of autonomous vehicle and robotaxi fleets. This role ensures vehicles are ready for testing, commercial ride-hailing, and new city launches while coordinating depot staff and optimizing fleet efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily activities of autonomous vehicle and robotaxi fleets at one or more depot sites.
• Guarantee that all vehicles are prepared and available for testing, commercial services, and autonomous ride-hailing.
• Track fleet usage, vehicle availability, charging routines, and overall operational status.
• Manage vehicle dispatch and return processes to improve fleet efficiency.
• Reduce vehicle downtime by planning operations effectively.
• Supervise all depot activities to maintain safe, efficient, and organized workflows.
• Collaborate with Depot Specialists, Safety Operators, Senior Technicians, and SDS Specialists.
• Verify that vehicles meet cleanliness, charging, inspection, and maintenance standards before deployment.
• Assist with depot setup and operational readiness for new city launches and fleet expansion.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and supervise operational staff.
• Develop shift schedules to support 24/7 fleet operations.
• Conduct performance reviews and coaching sessions.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in fleet operations, automotive operations, transportation, logistics, mobility services, or similar operational environments.
• Previous experience leading operational or technical teams.
• Experience managing shift-based or 24/7 operations.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
• Experience monitoring KPIs and operational performance.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting autonomous vehicles, robotaxi fleets, ADAS programs, or automotive testing.
• Experience with electric vehicle (EV) fleet operations.
• Previous experience launching new operational sites or depots.
• Knowledge of fleet management systems and operational reporting tools.
• Additional European languages are an advantage depending on project location.
