AWS Cloud Architect

SUMMIT RECRUITMENT AG seeks a Senior AWS Cloud Architect in Zürich for an on-site contract role. The position focuses on designing AWS infrastructure, implementing Terraform automation, and ensuring security and compliance.

The company is looking for a senior specialist to consult on and design cloud platform infrastructure within the AWS ecosystem. This role centers on automating infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code, with a strong emphasis on Terraform. The architect will also be responsible for maintaining security standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing the performance of existing cloud systems.

Responsibilities

• Create and build AWS landing zones.
• Develop strategies for allocating costs across multiple tenants.
• Set up Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies and network architectures.
• Automate cloud platform infrastructure using Terraform.
• Maintain and improve the efficiency of current Infrastructure as Code solutions.
• Provide guidance to teams regarding data storage, protection, and encryption methods.
• Deploy automated security controls.
• Handle the management of software updates and patch releases.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure to boost performance and operational efficiency.
• Work with various teams to spot improvement opportunities and execute changes.

Requirements

• A university degree in fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related sciences.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification or an equivalent credential.
• Proven experience in automating infrastructure using Terraform.
• Background in consulting, designing, building, and operating AWS cloud platforms.
• Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of data security states, including data at rest, in motion, in use, and confidential computing.
