CAE Engineer

SHL Medical AG seeks a Mid-level CAE Engineer in Zug, CH, to apply simulation methods for robust product design and root cause analysis in medical device development.

This position plays a key part in early-stage product development by leveraging simulation techniques to ensure reliable design solutions. The engineer investigates issues through root cause analysis to drive design improvements and evaluates how manufacturing and design variables affect performance and failure modes.

Responsibilities

• Apply finite element analysis (FEA) simulations to aid product development and continuous improvement efforts.
• Create, deploy, and upkeep simulation models alongside associated engineering tools.
• Help develop, validate, and refine simulation methodologies over time.
• Produce and update documentation covering simulation procedures, guidelines, and training resources.
• Lead and participate in cross-functional projects and technical discussions.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and deliver high-quality results.
• Encourage knowledge exchange and share best practices across teams and global sites.
• Assist in planning, prioritizing, and executing simulation tasks.

Requirements

• Hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.

Nice to have

• Background in injection moulding or high-volume manufacturing settings.
• Proficiency with HyperMesh.
• Experience using LS-DYNA.
