Chief Architect

Nexthink seeks a Director-level Chief Architect to lead the platform's technical vision, focusing on AI, cloud, and data strategies while managing a team of senior architects in Lausanne.

This position holds ultimate responsibility for the architectural direction of the Nexthink Platform, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer. The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, setting the vision for AI, cloud, and data infrastructure while guiding a distributed team of six senior architects across Europe.

Responsibilities

• Establish and execute the long-term architecture roadmap, prioritizing scalability, system resilience, AI integration, and overall platform evolution.
• Actively contribute to specific architectural domains, taking personal ownership of key initiatives from design through to production deployment.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering leadership to ensure architectural choices align with business goals and the product roadmap.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing architecture team by fostering shared practices, hosting technical forums, and promoting a culture of engineering excellence.
• Articulate the architectural vision clearly to diverse audiences, including executive stakeholders such as the CEO and CPO, as well as technical teams.
• Assess emerging technologies, particularly within AI and machine learning infrastructure, to make informed decisions about platform integration.
• Serve as the primary technical authority for the organization, advising engineering groups on design patterns, trade-offs, and best practices.

Requirements

• Over a decade of hands-on experience in software architecture within product-driven engineering environments.
• Demonstrated success in designing and delivering large-scale, high-performance, cloud-native platforms that have reached production.
• Deep technical expertise in cloud-native principles, including microservices, distributed systems, and high-volume data pipelines.
• Recent, meaningful exposure to AI and Machine Learning technologies within the last two years.
• Professional background gained in high-growth SaaS or product-focused companies.
• Experience at the Director, Senior Director, or VP level, or equivalent scope as a Staff or Principal Architect.

Nice to have

• Practical experience with major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
