Corporate Accountant

Robert Walters Switzerland is seeking a Corporate Accountant to manage general ledger operations, prepare Swiss GAAP financial statements, and handle statutory reporting in an on-site role.

This position focuses on the accurate maintenance of financial records and the preparation of statutory reports. The role ensures compliance with Swiss accounting standards while supporting broader financial analysis and regulatory obligations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the general ledger and verify the precision of all financial entries.
• Draft monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements that comply with Swiss GAAP.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable processes alongside bank reconciliations.
• Complete VAT filings and provide assistance with corporate tax submissions.
• Contribute to budgeting efforts, cash flow monitoring, and financial forecasting.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and relevant regulatory authorities.
• Ensure adherence to statutory reporting mandates and internal accounting controls.
• Identify opportunities for process enhancement and operational efficiency.
• Generate management reports and perform financial analysis to support decision-making.
• Assist with special finance projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Possess 3–5 years of professional accounting experience, ideally within asset management or financial services.
• Demonstrate a solid grasp of Swiss accounting principles and VAT legislation.
• Have prior experience preparing statutory financial statements and interacting with external auditors.
• Be proficient in using accounting software packages and Microsoft Excel.
• Show strong analytical capabilities and a keen attention to detail.
• Effectively manage competing priorities and adhere to strict deadlines.
• Be fluent in both English and German.
