Credit Analyst

The company seeks a mid-level Credit Analyst in Geneva to evaluate financial risks for commodity trading clients and recommend credit facilities. The role requires strong analytical skills and at least five years of experience in trade finance.

Reporting to the Credit Analysis Division Head, this position focuses on assessing financial data for clients engaged in commodity trade finance. The analyst determines transaction risks and advises on credit facility approvals to support the business.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements and credit approval forms for a portfolio of commodity trade finance clients.
• Evaluate counterparty creditworthiness and submit recommendations to internal decision-makers.
• Keep credit facility records current by tracking financial performance and statements.
• Update internal credit ratings for all debtor accounts.
• Review and approve major requests for counterparty, broker, and insurance accreditation.
• Assess credit risk and provide recommendations for ad-hoc transactions requested by the trade finance department.
• Collaborate with trade finance teams and relationship managers during transaction structuring and credit line setup.
• Join client meetings with relationship managers when necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of five years of experience as a credit officer or analyst within banks or audit firms handling commodity trading portfolios.
• Solid grasp of commodity trade finance operations and instruments.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical capabilities.
• Ability to produce structured, concise, and confident financial statement analyses.
• High attention to detail.
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Fluent written and verbal English skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Must hold Swiss residency.
