Lexton Stanley seeks a Documentary Credit Specialist in Geneva to manage the full lifecycle of trade finance instruments, including credits, guarantees, and collections, ensuring strict compliance with international banking rules.
This position focuses on the end-to-end handling of documentary credits and related trade finance operations. The specialist will oversee issuance, advising, confirmation, and settlement processes while ensuring all transactions adhere to established regulatory frameworks and internal standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete process of documentary credits, from initial issuance through to final settlement and amendments.
- Process documentary collections and keep a close watch on associated transaction activities.
- Issue and manage bank guarantees as well as counter-guarantees.
- Examine trade documents carefully to verify they meet specific credit terms and applicable regulations.
- Detect any discrepancies in documentation and collaborate with clients, relationship managers, and correspondent banks to resolve issues.
- Calculate commissions, fees, interest, and foreign exchange components linked to transactions.
- Assist in structuring and executing complex trade finance deals.
- Ensure accurate recording and timely follow-up of all operations within the bank’s internal systems.
Requirements
- Prior experience in Trade Finance or Documentary Credits within a banking setting.
- Solid understanding of UCP rules and general international trade finance practices.
- Good grasp of the operational and accounting sides of trade finance transactions.
- High attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple transactions at once.
- Professional proficiency in English.
