The company seeks a Business Risk Manager in Geneva to oversee client onboarding, manage transactional alerts, and ensure compliance with AML, CDB, and tax regulations for mid-level risk accounts.
Operating within the Wealth Management division as part of the first line of defence, this position serves as the primary internal reference for Anti-Money Laundering, Customer Due Diligence, Risk Appetite, and Know Your Customer/Transaction protocols. The role focuses on managing client account openings and resolving transactional alerts for lower and medium risk categories.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete end-to-end process of client account onboarding.
- Conduct formal checks on all risk-level onboarding files, verifying documentation against local and international rules (CDB, CRS, FATCA) and internal bank procedures.
- Review onboarding files for AML, KYC, KYT, and adverse news screening before submission, with a particular emphasis on standard and medium-risk relationships.
- Guarantee that all corroborations and evidences are accurate, complete, and aligned with the bank's qualitative risk appetite.
- Adhere to established service level agreements for onboarding timelines.
- Review, document, and promptly close normal and medium-risk transactional alerts clarified by the front office.
- Initiate event-driven updates triggered by shifts in transactional activity or changes in client circumstances to maintain up-to-date KYC/KYT records.
- Report any deviations from bank standards to line management and control functions as per policy.
- Act as a liaison for WM Markets initiatives when requested by management.
- Implement continuous improvements based on Compliance Quality Control feedback.
- Perform both digital and manual data entry in bank systems for account openings.
- Collaborate with other Business Risk Managers and Senior Business Risk Managers across markets to balance workloads, meet deadlines, and utilize specific market expertise.
Requirements
- A university degree (Bachelor) or an equivalent qualification.
- Background in Private Banking, Central File, or Wealth Management Compliance, with a solid grasp of CDB, AML, tax regulations, and sanctions.
- At least five years of professional experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with the flexibility to interact effectively with various seniority levels.
- Proficiency in the bank's internal systems and the MS Office suite.
- Fluency in both French and English.
- Valid Swiss residence status.
Nice to have
- Prior experience with Middle East and Africa (MEA) markets.
- Familiarity with Power-BI.
- Additional language skills, particularly Arabic.
