The company seeks a Senior Cross Border Manager in Geneva to coordinate risk management for its Private Clients Business, acting as a deputy to the Head of Cross Border and ensuring regulatory alignment.
This position serves as the central hub for cross-border risk management within the Private Clients Business. The role supports the Head of Cross Border, focusing on risk oversight, governance, and strategic execution while ensuring business activities align with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Monitor cross-border regulatory changes and report relevant impacts to the organization promptly.
- Oversee the cross-border control framework, escalating deviations to the Head of Cross Border within the COO function.
- Identify, evaluate, and escalate cross-border risks via appropriate governance channels.
- Maintain a robust first-line defense control framework with clear escalation paths.
- Develop, implement, and improve cross-border controls, procedures, and monitoring tools.
- Standardize processes and ensure consistency across different markets and teams.
- Keep documentation, guidelines, and internal manuals up-to-date and aligned with internal policies.
- Lead or support cross-functional strategic projects related to risk management, documentation harmonization, and process optimization.
- Act as the main contact for all cross-border inquiries from stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Central Business Risk Managers team to enhance and maintain the cross-border controls and monitoring framework.
- Foster a risk-aware culture by providing expertise, feedback, and practical solutions.
Requirements
- Over 7 years of experience in banking and finance, preferably in risk, compliance, or audit roles.
- Deep understanding of regulatory practices and risk management from studies or professional experience.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Capacity to manage multiple diverse tasks simultaneously while maintaining high-quality work.
- Demonstrated personal initiative, ownership, and accountability.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex regulatory concepts clearly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams, knowing when to seek guidance.
- Fluent proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office tools.
- Must be Swiss domiciled.
