Cross-Border Business Expert

Bank J Safra Sarasin seeks a Cross-Border Business Expert in Zürich to strengthen its cross-border framework, provide compliance guidance to front-office units, and ensure regulatory adherence across its global operations.

This position is designed to bolster the bank’s capabilities in cross-border matters by maintaining and refining the underlying framework. The expert will serve as a senior subject matter resource, offering direct support to front-office teams and other internal stakeholders while ensuring that cross-border principles are effectively implemented across Swiss and international entities.

Responsibilities

• Advise front-office units and internal teams on daily cross-border compliance issues and operational questions.
• Perform regular reviews of cross-border markets, preparing detailed analyses, assessments, and management reports.
• Develop and update cross-border country manuals, and deliver training sessions to front-office staff.
• Track legal and regulatory changes, communicating relevant updates to internal stakeholders promptly.
• Enhance the cross-border framework by identifying improvement areas and updating policies, procedures, and controls.
• Act as a key expert for business projects and initiatives requiring cross-border knowledge.
• Facilitate the implementation of cross-border standards across various entities in Switzerland and abroad.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests concerning cross-border activities.

Requirements

• University degree in Business Administration or Law, or equivalent banking education such as a completed apprenticeship.
• Three to five years of practical experience in cross-border regulation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and take ownership of tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• A hands-on approach to work.
• Fluency in English.

• Fluency in German and/or French.
