The company seeks a Data Engineer in Villars-sur-Glane to build and maintain scalable data pipelines and BI infrastructure, enabling analytics and AI initiatives across the organization.
This position anchors the data stack by creating robust, governed pipelines that fuel business insights. The role bridges technical infrastructure and business intelligence to design data models that support decision-making, while collaborating with a dynamic team focused on analytics and AI applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and upkeep the data and BI infrastructure supporting analytics and machine learning projects.
- Create scalable data pipelines and verify data quality standards.
- Facilitate self-service analytics and develop BI products for the entire organization.
- Construct business-ready data models, high-performance infrastructure, and large-scale reporting dashboards.
- Configure and maintain Looker dashboards and explores, translating complex business questions into actionable insights.
- Train viewers and explorers on how to get the most out of the Looker platform.
- Design and implement dbt models and dimensional data marts, applying software engineering best practices.
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow/Apache Composer, ensuring seamless data ingestion into BigQuery.
- Monitor data platform health, troubleshoot quality issues, and implement data governance and access controls.
- Maintain data definitions and lineage, ensuring Looker remains a single source of truth.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Looker (LookML) or PowerBI, and SQL/DBT.
- Deep understanding of Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery) and expert in SQL and Python.
- Experience building pipelines with Airflow/Apache Composer.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment using an Agile/DevOps operating model.
