Database administrator

The company is looking for a mid-level Database Administrator in Geneva to manage and secure its database infrastructure across multiple platforms, ensuring high availability and performance.

The company is seeking a proactive Database Administrator to join its Geneva team. The position focuses on maintaining the security, performance, and reliability of the database infrastructure while supporting development teams and aligning systems with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain database systems such as Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, tune performance, and handle backup and restore operations.
• Administer corporate data to guarantee consistency, accessibility, and security.
• Design and implement technical architectures, including clustering, replication, and high-availability solutions.
• Support development teams by ensuring optimal application performance and scalability.
• Enforce the organization’s security framework and ensure compliance with established policies.
• Stay informed about security best practices to protect against vulnerabilities and exploits.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align database systems with security and compliance requirements.
• Work with cross-functional teams to support business goals and deliver high-quality database solutions.
• Keep up with emerging database technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in database administration.
• Proven expertise in managing and optimizing Sybase, Oracle, and SQL Server databases.
• Fluency in English and French is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Data Guard and RMAN is highly desirable.
• Experience in data lake implementation is a plus.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of data lake solutions (preferred but not mandatory).
