Senior Oracle DBA

Bank J Safra Sarasin seeks a Senior Oracle DBA in Basel to manage global Oracle infrastructure, ensure high availability for critical applications, and drive automation and optimization efforts.

The company is looking for an experienced database professional to oversee the daily operations, support, and ongoing evolution of its Oracle environment on a global scale. This role is central to maintaining high-level storage services for the bank's most critical applications, ensuring stability and performance across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage incident resolution and provide troubleshooting support to keep operations running smoothly.
• Execute change requests (RFCs) strictly following established procedures and protocols.
• Analyze application lifecycle management to propose and implement improvements that optimize resource usage.
• Design and deploy automated solutions to enhance efficiency.
• Participate in infrastructure upgrades and actively support migration initiatives.
• Conduct recovery drills and provide second-level support, including participation in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• A university degree or equivalent higher education in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum of seven years of hands-on experience in database operations and engineering.
• Proven expertise with both Oracle databases and PostgreSQL.
• Fluent command of the English language.

• Practical experience using Ansible for automation tasks.
• Fluency in German.
