E-commerce & Merchandise Manager

Proton seeks an E-commerce & Merchandise Manager to lead its custom merch shop strategy, production, and operations in Geneva.

This role sits within the small Social & Community team and is responsible for building and scaling Proton’s custom merchandise shop. The position covers the entire lifecycle from product planning and production to storefront performance and customer experience, serving fans, partners, and creators.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the e-commerce strategy, including positioning, pricing, audience targeting, and growth plans.
  • Manage the full merch development cycle, from concept briefs and design direction to sampling, iteration, and final approvals.
  • Test and run experiments such as pre-orders, waitlists, limited drops, bundles, and collaborations to drive engagement.
  • Ensure high standards for quality, sustainability, and brand consistency across all materials, packaging, and unboxing experiences.
  • Boost brand awareness and community connection through merch moments, creator seeding, and fan engagement initiatives.
  • Create programs to generate user-generated content via campaign prompts, incentives, and ambassador collaborations.
  • Track and optimize key e-commerce metrics including conversion rates, average order value, revenue, and customer retention.
  • Oversee daily shop operations, including product setup, inventory management, fulfillment, returns, and customer support SLAs.
  • Streamline processes and workflows to maximize efficiency and impact.
  • Coordinate merch stocking and production for internal events and conferences.
  • Assist with tradeshows and booth setup activities.
  • Cultivate relationships with local vendors to optimize costs across different regions.

Requirements

  • At least four years of experience in e-commerce, merchandising, or direct-to-consumer operations.
  • Demonstrated success in owning an e-commerce channel end-to-end, including strategy, launches, inventory, and performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with merch production workflows, including sourcing, sampling, minimum order quantities, lead times, and quality control.
  • Proficiency with Shopify or similar platforms, fulfillment logistics, and customer support tools.
  • Basic knowledge of design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Figma, or InDesign.
  • Technical aptitude to implement new tools and workflows aligned with the latest e-commerce and marketing technologies.
  • Strong communication and copywriting skills for e-commerce content.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
