EEMEA Regional Commercial Lead Pharma & Specialty – Immunology

MSD Switzerland seeks a Senior EEMEA Regional Commercial Lead for its Immunology portfolio. This hybrid role in Luzern focuses on strategic launch execution, market access, and cross-functional leadership across Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The company is looking for an experienced commercial leader to drive the growth and launch readiness of its emerging Immunology portfolio across the EEMEA region. This position plays a critical role in shaping regional strategy, prioritizing markets, and ensuring operational excellence for treatments addressing inflammatory bowel disease, dermatologic, and rheumatologic conditions. The incumbent will translate global priorities into actionable local plans, collaborating closely with country teams to deliver financial performance and address significant unmet medical needs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with medical, market access, and country teams to deepen the understanding of Immunology unmet needs, disease burdens, and evolving care pathways.
  • Direct regional planning for Immunology product launches, including market prioritization, resource allocation, go-to-market design, and execution milestones.
  • Develop scalable regional capabilities, insights, and operating models to support current and future Immunology indications.
  • Lead the integrated regional launch and five-year strategy, converting global objectives into specific EEMEA decisions on sequencing, investment, and growth.
  • Define strategic priorities alongside country teams, focusing on market selection, resource distribution, and multi-country initiatives.
  • Orchestrate cross-functional execution with commercial, medical, access, policy, evidence, communications, and digital teams to create market-ready launch plans.
  • Engage with scientific leaders, payers, and patient organizations to enhance insights into market access requirements and care dynamics.
  • Drive priority projects above the country level, such as launch readiness assessments, stakeholder engagement, and capability-building efforts.
  • Monitor launch progress, identify barriers early, and coordinate regional support to improve execution quality and business impact.
  • Coach business unit leaders and marketing teams on specialty care strategy, market access, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support regional forecasting, launch investment planning, and long-range market resource planning.
  • Represent EEMEA perspectives in global Immunology discussions, highlighting market opportunities, risks, and access realities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited university.
  • At least 10 years of experience in marketing or commercial roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate global strategy into regional and local action plans, align cross-functional teams, and drive successful launches in complex markets.
  • Strong communication skills with business-level proficiency in English.

Nice to have

  • Experience in Pharmaceuticals, Specialty Care, Immunology, Gastroenterology (including ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease), Dermatology, or Rheumatology.
  • Knowledge of marketing approaches, payer dynamics, specialty care pathways, compliance, operations, and change management.
  • Experience with P&L responsibility and team leadership, such as business unit leadership.
  • Previous experience implementing cross-country or international projects.
  • Strong digital, omni-channel, and customer experience capabilities, particularly in specialty launch planning, insight generation, and performance measurement.
