The company seeks an EHS Specialist in Vernier, Switzerland, to support the EHS Director, lead safety initiatives, and foster a strong safety culture within the Fragrances Department.

This position operates within the EHS Fragrances Department in Vernier, reporting directly to the EHS Director. The specialist works alongside three other colleagues to manage daily safety operations, handle specialized tasks, and actively promote a robust safety culture throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison for designated departments and provide backup support to others.
  • Step in for the EHS Director during periods of absence.
  • Collaborate with key partners to resolve EHS-related challenges with a customer-focused approach.
  • Plan and execute routine safety inspections, document results, and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and recommend preventive steps.
  • Conduct risk assessments and suggest methods to reduce potential hazards.
  • Serve as the EHS Coordinator within the Crisis Management framework.
  • Monitor audit outcomes and assess the success of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Assist in scheduling EHS committee meetings and track the progress of decided actions.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with regulatory authorities regarding environmental, health, and safety matters.
  • Deliver EHS orientation sessions for new hires and external contractors.
  • Lead toolbox talks and provide additional EHS training.
  • Support the creation of EHS protocols and monitor their adoption across the site.

Requirements

  • Hold a university degree in Chemistry, Engineering, EHS, or a closely related discipline.
  • Possess the Swiss Diploma 'Ingénieur sécurité MSST' (mandatory).
  • Demonstrate a minimum of three years of experience in the chemical or manufacturing sector.
  • Have over five years of specialized experience in EHS.
  • Be fluent in French and possess working knowledge of English.

  • Hold the 'Chargé de sécurité incendie' certification.
  • Demonstrate a strong customer focus.
